Answer PM is sort of an OS/2 "answering machine" for text messages.
It lets any number of users send, receive and manage messages over
a PC network.
It uses a simple, file-based architecture for message storage, so it works
with any kind of network. All you need is OS/2 2.0 or higher and access to a
shared file system.
This is a program that I have used quite a bit. My friends and
I really liked it back in the old days (the mid 1990's) because our "official"
e-mail was clumsy and difficult to use.
It was also cool to be able to do this at all, since Windows 3.1 (the "other"
operating system at the time) could not multi-task worth anything.
In a way, it predicted modern Instant Messenger software.
